Thanks to our Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Innovate UK and Aston University, we’ve welcomed Prateek to the team! Prateek has joined Alwayse on a two-year project to support our innovation plans and future growth.
Knowledge Exchange with Aston University
“A big part of my role is to be the bridge between the university and the business; bringing knowledge from the university through me to Alwayse.”
Prateek joined us on 1st October and has already settled in well.
“I come in, make a coffee, have some football banter with Paul, and get started with work.
It’s still early days, so a big part of it is learning and finding my rhythm.”
Prateek is currently working on mapping our customer journey, as well as other small projects designed to help integrate Prateek and the University into the Alwayse business during this early phase of the project.
“It’s like a knowledge exchange. I update the university on what’s working, what isn’t, and what we can take forward and the university academics furnish me with knowledge and skills to support driving the required change within the business.”
Getting to Know the Alwayse Team
One of the highlights of Prateek first month has been spending time on the shop floor.
“I’ve always worked behind a laptop, so it’s been really fun.
“Behind the scenes, there’s a lot that goes into the products, so learning how they’re made and meeting the team has been really interesting.
“If I ever fancied a career change, that’s where I’d want to be!”
He’s fitted in seamlessly and already made a great impression.
“Everyone’s been so warm and welcoming. It’s always nerve-racking starting somewhere new, but I’m really grateful that I can just be myself here.”
Alwayse has been going through a lot of exciting changes over the past year, so it’s the perfect time for someone like Prateek to join.
“You really feel like you can make a difference here. There’s a lot of thinking outside the box, which is incredibly exciting to me.”
When he’s not at Alwayse, you’ll probably find Prateek playing football, hiking, or travelling.
“I play football with the Alwayse team on Monday evenings and I’m a big Arsenal fan!”
Prateek’s Journey to Alwayse
“I grew up in India watching all kinds of football, and I came to the UK in 2022 to complete my master’s at Aston University.
“I love travelling. I’m hoping to visit Iceland soon, and South America is high on my list too.
“I’m also big on hiking, so if you can’t reach me, I’m probably up a mountain somewhere.”
It’s been brilliant having Prateek as part of the team. He’s already brought in fresh ideas and a new perspective that will help shape our next phase of innovation.
Partnerships like this one with Innovate UK and Aston University are about more than just growth; they’re about evolving as a business and exploring what’s possible.
Without that partnership, we’d never have had the pleasure of getting to know Prateek and the academic team at Aston University.
